Does Credit Report Monitoring Work?
My wife wants us to sign up for a credit report monitoring service. It’s all you hear about lately. All these people who find out that people have captured their social security numbers online and used the information to take out credit accounts and in some cases, mortgages. I know the problem exists but my concern is that the monitoring only notifies you once the horse is already out of the barn. I think we should look for a service that stops people from using your credit information to begin with. I don’t know that that service exists but it makes more sense to me.
