Prevention is better than cure I think in most cases
When a child decides to go to a doctor or family planning to get contraception, the parents do not have to know about this. The parents are usually the last to know actually as the child seems to be ashamed or too shy to tell the parents of their plans. It is normally parents rights to know about decisions in which their children make yet the child is protected by law from them finding such a thing out. I suppose it could be a lot worse, the child could one day come in at a young age and tell the parents they are expecting a child which would be more of a shock so at least they are thinking sensibly by taking responsibility.
