Book ahead
I know that pretty much all the taupo accommodation houses are usually booked out well in advance for the summer so I am getting onto it now to make sure that we don’t miss out. We sadly got caught out by that trap a couple of years ago and could not get anywhere that could sleep our family. It’s often a little harder with a couple of young ones if the places don’t offer fold away beds but I found that a lot more places are starting to have those available as they are becoming more and more necessary for families wanting to stay in the region.
