I couldn’t figure out why town was so quiet
I was really surprised to see so many of the taupo motel still had vacancies for the long weekend. Normally for this particular three day break the whole town is packed and it’s pretty hard to find a place to stay. For some strange reason this was not the case. It wasn’t until someone pointed out to me that with easter being a different time this year, the school holidays were only the following week, so that would explain why there were not too many people around as I guess they were all waiting for school to break up and then head away with the kids.
